So.. the V6 Duratec is the engine in a Ford ST220 right?

Anyway, is this a good engine to get power/reliability out of? I would be used in a midmounted, in-line configuration mated to a hewland FT200 box (prosport LM3000)

Don't Noble use a twin turboed version of this engine? If it's good enough for them.....

The ST220 uses the 3-litre version of the Duratec, ealier cars used a 2.5 litre version.

As KITT says, Noble use a tuned twin turbo version and Duratec V6s have also been fitted by FBS, Marcos and Morgan.

General concesus seems to be that it's a good engine.

The Nissan V6 is a better and lighter engine. I am having one built at the moment using, oddly enough, modified LM3000 bits.

I can justify because the Nissan V6 has one numerous international races and awards, the Ford hasn't.

However the Ford is much easier to obtain and get parts for.

All the options are better than what was in the LM3000 originally!!!

Drop me a mail chap, we've got a fair old lump of experience with these.... about 530bhp's worth!
