Looking to buy a 2018 Mini 2.0 Cooper S, (the all BMW engine, not the earlier Peugeot derived version) most of which seem to have around 50k miles. This is much higher than I would normally choose.
How reliable are these engines and how many miles you expect them to go without issues? (timing chain etc)?

Prices have really increase meaning you have to look at higher mileage.

The B48 is a good engine, used across the BMW range, and some in very high states of tunes.

It’s chain driven. We have had our MCS fir 3 years now. No issues. Just make sure you service it every 12, rather than the recommended 24 months.
