Hello! 1st post. Hoping someone can help me identify this sounds coming from my belt area. I've changed the timing belt (though I ordered a water pump which came a week late so didn't get the chance to fit it.) After I took the belt of, on inspection it looked perfectly fine, but I replaced it anyway since I had the new one on hand.

However the clickety clackety sounds remains.

I've included a sound clip from underneath the car and another from inside, which highlights a weird rhythm, leading me to believe the running might have somehow been thrown out.

Not sure if there are power issues or not; it's a tiny diesel engine they all feel like they're driven by turtle-power.

(Will update with link to sounds clip when I get it uploaded)

If t is the timing, is that fixable myself? I'm pretty experienced with everything from head gasket replacement to valve timing to injectors and brakes, all that, but I've never messed with the timing. Not sure how difficult it would be.

Also the car isn't worth over 300gbp so it's either me or the scrappies.

It's notoriously difficult to diagnose funny noises from a recording, but in any case you didn't include any recordings.
