Rattle detection via frequency analysis
Discussion
Appreciate that this isn't exactly engine / drivetrain but it seemed like the closest forum section to my query.
I have an annoying rattle in my car that's proving to be hard to diagnose as it only appears under certain conditions. After some searching I came across this product which may help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AN-9QoQWR74&t=...
Am going to call the company tomorrow to see if they can point me in the direction of a garage near London that uses their unit, but I know that there are other similar products available. Does anyone here know of a business that does NVH / rattle identification using one near London?
Thanks everyone. Will post here re how it goes if I find one and try the process out

Don't know of any, but there are a couple of Pico users groups on Facebook, so you could maybe try there.I have an annoying rattle in my car that's proving to be hard to diagnose as it only appears under certain conditions. Although all too often, it just needs someone experienced and competent. And a lot of patience.
You seem to imply it's only under certain conditions, this will make it much harder to diagnose I'd think. Is it an engine sound ? drive train ? other ? cabin ? something rattling in the glove box ?
There have been many sources of noises in vehicles.

Thanks both. Will see if the Pico approach can help. Otherwise it'll be a trip out with a technician from the dealer. Don't think it's drivetrain as that's behind me, and the noise is coming from in front of me, although always hard to tell
So you haven't actually had anyone experienced out in the car yet ?stevieturbo said:

So you haven't actually had anyone experienced out in the car yet ?Have since spoken with Pico and with the car manufacturer. The latter can send a team to the dealer with the Pico equipment to help if need be ie if it's hard to diagnose so hopefully will get it sorted
