Anyway to tell if the DPF has been deleted?
Discussion
I bought a car last year and I've noticed over the last few months it's been getting more smokey. If I accelerate hard, I will sometimes leave a cloud of black smoke in my wake. When revving whilst stationary it will also create some black smoke as well.
I've never seen the DPF light come on, but I decided to hook up my scan tool the other day which reports the ash level in the DPF as being 100% which I'm assuming means it's full.
The fact that no light has come on to say it's full leads me to believe it's been deleted. Aside from taking it off the car and seeing if it's been cut open and rewelded, is there any way to tell? Would a DPF delete still allow me to view information about the DPF in diagnostics since I assume they'd also have to disable it or something in the ECU?
Thanks in advance

Is there any pressure differential across the DPF at all ?
Knocking on the casing might give a clue, or might not.
If there is any sort of access port nearby you could shove something down the exhaust to see if there is anything in the way, would be an option.
In terms of the electronic side, I'd imagine any competent remap place should be able to retrieve the ecu info and tell you if it has been disabled.
Or try unplugging the pressure sensor, removing hoses etc to see if it does report that it is unhappy with you doing this
