Have I broken my Peugeot boxer?
Discussion
On a trip to Scotland last year in the motor home (2007 boxer, I live in West Cornwall) , half way up a fairly steep hill, I have to stop for a car turning right. They move, so I do a hill start, plenty of revs, change into 2nd and an EML comes on.
I stop, can't see anything so I slowly plod on 50 miles or so to where I was staying with no power. I manage to get it to a garage where it's plugged in and it comes up as the egr sticking so everything gets reset, lights go out and I am sent on my way, except instead of mid 30 mpg I am down to mid teens.
After an expensive drive home, over 600 miles at less than 15mpg, (but no warning lights) my local garage tries to clean the egr, doesn't work so replaces it but that doesn't work either
I am still doing mid teens average mpg and at just over 3000 rpm it feels restricted, a definite drop in power, like someone has suddenly put the handbrake on. Local garage is stumped.
Before it was running well, now it isn't over 3000 rpm, it's flat and won't pull the skin of a rice pudding.
Could I be looking at something simple like a split hose, or has 650 miles dumping loads of fuel through it, properly broken it?
