Hope you can help me - previously posted this in Volvo thread but had no replies obviuosly no techies on that thread:-

In process of changing the timing belt on my xc70 d5 diesel - using a full new OEM Volvo belt kit - No problems until I tried fitting the new belt but I'm unable to get the belt onto the Tensioner pulley? It seems to be a few mm short? Anyone have a simple way/dodge/trick etc. of fitting a new cambelt. I've watched several U tube vids on the belt change but none of them actually show you how to fit the new belt onto the pulleys - Help please
I've also tried fitting the belt around the tensioner pulley B4 bolting tensioner to the engine, this seems possible but with lack of space there's no way to line up the bolt accurately without fear of X threading it in the aly block!!

Not sure where you're having problems ? photos ?

Is belt same as old ?

When I did my 2011 V70 D5 a few years ago, it was an extremely easy job. Access is good, routing very simple. As far as belts go, it's well up there for ease of use.

you ground the wheel ???

Not sure I'd have taken that approach.

Seemingly supposed to do water pump at the same time, although lots online seemed to think aftermarket pumps including Gates weren't so good. Mine seemed fine
