Hi Peeps!

Quick question, are petrol and diesel in-tank lift pumps different? My Chrysler 300c diesel pump has given up the ghost. loads of breakers wanting to sell me old sender and pump, old sender minus the pump or just an old pump for silly money or they just don't bother getting back to me? Don't want to fit an old pump, doesn't make sense? Owners club etc.. it's like tumbleweed rolling across the planes or just miss information. I can get a pump from Rockauto in the US for £35 but obviously they just supply for petrol cars.

Buy the correct pump.

It's that simple.

There is zero chance of the pump for the petrol version, being the same as the diesel lift pump

If Chrysler do not sell them, then you would be better seeking out a similar pump from another similar diesel vehicle and adapting that

I would and have sourced alternative pumps for other vehicles but no info for Chrysler 300c plus it uses a secondary pick up due to the tank design, so not straightforward to modify. All parts suppliers list universal pumps and I don't want to spend my days returning stuff.

plus, you can't buy just buy another pump and Chrysler shut up shop in the UK, if only it was that simples!

Have you even diagnosed that the pump is faulty ? And removed it to get a look at it ?

Or just buy a second hand one

Various listings on ebay for a tank/sender unit with lots of pipes.....but none seem to have an actual pump, despite the adverts claiming pump

And there in lies the problem?
The pump is faulty, changed enough over the years.
I have contacted a dozen breakers, either had no reply from most or, "yeah we have one" how much for it? "yeah"... how much and can you post? "yeah" or "what does it look like?" Gave up trying in the end, no sure I would trust any to successfully post a part? I think I will probably end up adapting a universal pump.
