smart roadster immobiliser
Discussion
how do you fess up you are stupid?
situation
smart roadster key went swimming with me (saltwater )no spare key
background
holiday car in our second home greece never had spare
not a lot of water ingress, managed to dry and registered got us home at home another check dry inside no rust but light spillage from battery - wiped clear
since then it does not register
manual says smartcenter could order a key but there is no official one any more
my small independent shrugs his shoulders
there is a big independent at the other side of athens
additional challenge is car is on private driveway
if i find somebody to order me a key ( yes i can prove ownership) do the need the car to programme the key can it come programmed?)
thanks i understand if you cry out loud over my stupidity but any help appreciated

A new key will most certainly need programmed.
Speak to a lock type specialist who deals with cars, they might be able to supply and code any new key.
Presumably you do have one working key ? Most new coding procedures require at least that. Failing that it could get a bit more complicated.
Perhaps needing to change multiple components from the car, from a set of working ones with matching keys

Seek out a smart car specialist somewhere, they would be better to advise of options.
Or perhaps some electronic specialist who might be able to clean and repair the key so even if only briefly, it does communicate long enough to program new keys
I'm sure there are also guides online about cleaning and drying such electronics. At this point if you consider it F**ked....can't do any further harm ?
