I was sabotaged !!!!

Please help me, I know u may not be able to answer but maybe u can give me ur point of view.

My car was sabotaged by people. i suspected someone actually pour about 500ml of tyre shine oil(silicone based) into my car's petrol tank, I came to know about it after recalling i saw a bottle of discarded "Black Magic" brand Tyre shine bottle when I started my car 3 days back, but at that time i did not suspect anything. So far my car drives ok but i feel the engine is weird.

Can u tell me what will happen ?? Will these oils choke and spoil my car ? Or will they just be burned off with the petrol ? What are the likely damage will it caused ?

OK, try this. Get a bottle of the stuff that you think was put into your fuel. Put a little petrol into a glass jar, pour a little of the stuff into the petrol, and observe the reaction, if any.

If the stuff sinks, you may be able to siphon some/most of it out with a hose. If it floats, likeley it won't hurt anything. If it mixes with the gas, I'm not certain what it might do.

If this is a silicone based product, I doubt it will do any harm.

So, siphon out the stuff if it sinks to the bottom, if possible, if it mixes with the gas you could consider draining the tank somehow.

You might want to change your fuel filter when you get as much of the crap out as you can.

Buy a locking gas cap. Don't park where this happened if you can help it.
