Rough costs for LS1 V8's?
Discussion
What would be the rough cost of a bog standard, used, LS1 V8 engine out of a camaro, (or similar) with a five/six speed manual box attached.
I know the answer could be how long is a piece of string, but for arguments sake assume it has come out of a totalled yank car and is functional, includes ecu and wiring.
How much would it cost here (ie after import)
Cheers

For complete engine/6spd wiring etc, I would expect to pay in and around £4500-5k all in ( including shipping and taxes )
Depends where you get it from, and how its shipped too.
I had mine airmailed over which was quite expensive.
Autos are a bit cheaper. Or indeed if you go for a slightly older engine.

Thats quite expensive considering that you can get a hand built engine from chevroletsls1 for 6.5k.

Hand built, with no gearbox, flywheel, clutch, wiring, alternator and various other parts etc etc
For what you get, its a bargain. You would expect to pay about £1500 for box alone.
Then clutch/flywheel, inlet manifold, alternator, wiring loom if needed, injectors and fuel rails.
There are so many extra small parts needed to actually make a running engine, that it makes so much sense to buy a complete engine package.
It depends what you want, and what sort of package you want.

It is a bespoke hybrid ls1-6 package. The alt, belts, starter, clutch, flywheel, uprated oil pump, shells etc are included. As is any style of sump and any odds and ends to suit the install such as headers etc.
Some people will go the used GM route and GM pcm and work around that, some won't.
