It has had a replacement camshaft and throttle body and now sounds like this when accelerating but the misfire and the shakiness at idle have gone and the engine and service light don't come on anymore.

This is what it sounded like before.

Really hard to diagnose from the clip.
Have you taken it back to the place that replaced the camshaft to see what they say?

Yea I'm going there on Saturday, I just thought I'd post here to see if anyone had a clue.

The seller thinks it might be something to do with the pulley system but he not a mechanic so the guys that did it will have to have a look.

My car has a timing chain. Is that the same as a cambelt? Or does the timing chain do the job of the cambelt?

It will be either belt or chain although the occasional few have both!

Anyone else have an audio of what their car sounded like just before a funny noise started? coffee
