Hi all,

Hoping you can help me to diagnose a vibration issue I am having with my recently acquired 2006 Honda Legend which is a 3.5L transverse V6 mated to a 5spd conventional automatic.

Symptoms:

At certain RPMs, notably 1500-2500 there is a pulsating vibration which you can hear and feel reverberate throughout the car. It's not violent, but it is apparent. It does not appear to sync with engine revolutions. It's pulse, fade, pulse, fade on a roughly 3-second cycle. This happens whether you are travelling (any gear so long as RPMs are in zone it does it in), or in Neutral or Park holding the RPMs at a certain level.

Once you are past 2750rpm the issue goes completely and everything is smooth as silk. Trouble is, most of my driving is motorway which means either 90mph in 5th or forcing 4th and wasting more fuel than necessary!

Appreciate any advice you can give! Thanks

I'm no expert but sounds like it could be worn engine mounts.

Another possability ... Poorly timed/incorrect balance shaft angle redface maybe even snapped and laying in the timing/cam belt housing frown (poor maintenance) cambelt and balance belt are seperate IIRC on this gen of Honda V6 scratchchin
