Leaking cam actuator seals
Discussion
My Astra GTC 1.4T (65-reg, 55k miles) went in for MoT/service today - passed - but.....
The mechanic said 'both cam actuator seals slightly leaking' but wasn't trying to gain some work and didn't say it needed an immediate urgent repair.
He said that I should keep an eye on it and frequently check the oil level - and that when the time comes, the repair would be expensive due to several hours of labour.
I had planned to sell the car later in the year due to changes in the way we use our cars so I'm not really wanting to spend lots of money on a car that is no longer needed.
Is it likely to be something which slowly worsens over many thousands of miles? That's the impression I got.
How concerned should I be about the slightly leaking seals?
Thanks!
