car cut out when idling and not starting. checked to see if cam belt hasn’t snapped but found this (Camshaft sprocket moving back and forward against block) What do you think caused this to happen? Car battery is fine but cranking slow, I thought when there was no compression it was spin faster? what’s your guys opinion on this, thanks

Here is a link to video of car cranking & Cam movement as not letting my upload a video on this:

Fetch the cam cover off, I'd suggest it's a broken camshaft.

Pretty sure on these that the part the sprocket bolts too is just shrink fitted on the camshaft so to speak so could be that too.

Well cranking it more certainly isn't going to help anything.

Pull the cover off and see why the pulley is moving like that. As suggested a broken camshaft is possible

How do you know there is no compression?

With either scenario the valves aren't opening/closing so there will be some pistons that are stroking up/down against a "dead head".
