It's only acid....what could go wrong ?
Flush it with water as best you can. Plenty of it.
It may or may not start to eat through any material it was in contact with
Hands still intact....will see in the morning lol. Flush it with water as best you can. Plenty of it.

I never realised this could happen tbh, should have "This way up" on batteries surely.
Make sure you wash it thoroughly and use an acid neutralizer such as baking soda if you have any doubts.
If you have spilled battery acid and don't wash it away completely or neutralize it then the surface will remain contaminated even after it has dried. You may find the acid gets transferred to your hand when you touch the contaminated surface days or weeks later, and then transferred to any other delicate materials you touch later (paper, clothing, wallpaper, fabric furniture etc). It may be days before the damage is noticeable and then you will gradually find handprint shaped patches appearing all over the place. By the time you notice, it's too late.
