Anyone had a ZF8 gearbox go on them?
If so what sort of issues did you have and what mileage/history?
Mine has 22,000 miles on it, looks like its given up the ghost.
Symptoms:
Rev flare between first 3 gears under certain throttle conditions (usually moderate throttle).
All quickcharge pressures negative suggesting swollen clutch plates. Clutch B and C gone further into negative over past 3 months.
ZF suspect possible glycol contamination, having it looked at in 2 weeks and have a feeling its not going to be good news.
Anyone had a ZF go or have to be repaired at such a low mileage?
Cheers

Some are so plentiful and cheap....I'd just buy a used unit.
Although you don't specify what model/vehicle
But if there is some coolant contamination, that would need thoroughly investigated and cleaned/repaired so it cannot happen again.
Yeh once its diagnosed i am potentially going to swap the 8HP50 for an 8HP70 second hand unit.Although you don't specify what model/vehicle

Since when? The ZF8's reputation is good from what I've seen. Not heard of an 8 speed going. The earlier 6 speed ones did occasionally, although it's such a different box it's hardly comparable. Will be interesting to see what they find.
