Gearbox remaps
Discussion
Hi, I have a Q8 50 dti. It's had a remap to take it up to 370 hp and is a very satisfying torque monster.
However an extremely common complaint is the slow/jerky throttle response at low speeds. DMS did my engine remap and i'm more than happy in every regard with them, but I'm intrigued by a DSG/Auto remap.
Would very much appreciate any feedback from anyone who has remapped anything along these lines, thanks in advance.

Q8 uses the ZF-8HP torque converter box.
TCU maps are pretty popular on S4's / S5's / so forth & generaly make noticable improvements to the "problem areas". Just like ECU maps, there are plenty of TCU maps / tunes available, you would probably be better looking at one of the mainline maps done by an installer with a decent reputation.
Edit to add - I don't know about the Q8, but the S4/S5 in both petrol & smokey versions had each had at least one updated TCU calibration from Audi, mostly related to low speed behaviour. I think that the updated calibrations are only installed if there is a specific complaint relating to the box - if you are still using Audi for servicing, it may be worth enquiring if an update is applicable.

That's helpful thanks. I'm absolutely delighted with the engine remap, mid range is phenomenal and still 40+mpg if you stay out of town. I'll hit up Audi before doing anything else.TCU maps are pretty popular on S4's / S5's / so forth & generaly make noticable improvements to the "problem areas".
