Hi my daughter has bought a Fiat 500 , she keeps getting a problem with the gears , when she is sat in traffic for a period of time she can then not get the car in gear or if she holds it on the clutch she can then not get it out of gear , any ideas please ? Thankyou in advance.
Fluid check the level, if it has always been an issue or appeared after a clutch change check the adjustment. Check are the floor mats or anything behind the pedal stopping it from being pushed to the floor. Either way sounds like the clutch isnt fully disengaging.
Does the "won't go into gear" problem get better if she pumps the clutch? That suggests one of the seals is leaking. The only one that can leak without causing a fluid loss is the internal one in the master cylinder.
