Hello,

This 1998 Corsa is driving me slightly mad.
It's got a few issues and I'd like to throw them all in in case someone may have any idea or previous experience with the same problem, please pick & chose...

Engine got too high CO emissions, so runs too rich. But it's a Multec injector.
Lambda sensor replaced, intake manifold re-sealed, idle control valve cleaned, injector replaced, catalyst replaced (about a yar ago as it smelled like it wasn't working), vacuum hoses checked, spark plugs cleaned (they were all sooty but all the same)- nothing should disturb its brain to provide the right mixture.
Yet, CO was at almost 5%.
On cold starts it sometimes won't fire on all cylinders and idle isn't stable (hence I cleaned the idle control valve...)
So what can possibly still go wrong...?
Fault codes? Err... 1405, 1503, 1502, 1602, 1740, 1640, 0400, 0443, 0325, 0105, 0130, 0120 (this one as some others may have been caused by a flat battery).

Second issue:

It's got an auto gearbox, AISIN AF13- which isn't auto anymore. It went into default mode, so one can only do the gears manually- which isnt't smooth nor ideal.
So changed ATF and cleaned the gear selector conductors but no change.
It started gradually: Sometimes it would decide to be back inservice but then again it would default after a while.
Not it has been in default mode for weeks. It makes a slightly whining noise when in default which disappears when in normal mode.
My guess is that it's electrical because it cut in and out- but that's just my wild guess.
I hope nobody will tell me that "the gearbox is broken. It needs to go to a specialist" like I heard in other places.
I'm hoping to learn something and if it's e.g. the actuator valves or the oil pump (would that cut in and out?!?), I might just swap it.

Now I'm curious about some wild ideas on any of those two issues...

For emissions , new spark plugs set to correct gap , new ht leads/ distributor cap set at correct timing if old ht system of coil pack engine check coil packs / wiring , I would also be checking compression if struggles to start
