Hi, I’m not mechanical and my Ford 4600 tractor has a leak. It’s not on the engine and it’s not the oil filter. Trying to work out if it’s the oil pump

I’m really trying to temporarily stop it leaking as there is a lot of oil that could drip and my agricultural repair shop is not open until tomorrow

A couple of images

Anyone can help me shut off the oil to this as it has a leak underneath which has a fairly constant drip

This is a better view. Green line is where the leak is

The thing you’re circling is the injector pump.

Do you have a diesel leak or engine oil leak?

Thankyou. It is oil as it does not smell like diesel

That type of injection pump is not lubricated by engine oil, depends upon the fuel. More likely passing the gasket between it and the timing case.

That's definitely the fuel pump.

So it’s the fuel pump and it’s stopped leaking.

My post covid sense of smell must be way out as I could have sworn it was oil

Will post update when done

So the Tractor man came out and it was a leaking fuel hose which was running fuel onto the injector pump (and there were small pools behind which were holding the fuel.

A bit of new fuel hose and all sorted (He did check there was no crack in the housing)
