I've been quoted the following:

£625 Halfords Autocentre
£584 Kwik Fit
£537 Independent Garage

Prefer to go with my usual independent garage and awaiting their quotation.

Does ~ £500 seem right? The car is only worth ~ £1000.

Had this done locally when the gearbox started growling (very common) so got the clutch done at the same time, I recall it was about 4 hours labour and the clutch itself was really cheap on eBay for a well known and trusted brand, so all depends on the hourly rate they charge.

how far are you from the midlands? Honda HQ in cannock do an OEM clutch kit with MTF oil change for £340. Thats for EP3/FN2/DC5 hondas.

Thats a very good price indeed, OK the 2005 model in question was a type S 2 litre but the family owner struggled to get a quote under £500.

I was quoted £600 and £700 by different garages before the pandemic, it was a 2.0 Type S Civic. I didn’t bother with it as paid £300 for it and want worth the hassle. Still used it for 6 months.
