HI - Building a classic car engine for fast road / mild competition use. the old lucas distributor is knackered. so would be interested to know what others think about the following choice
1. replace lucas distributor with new one with adjusted springs and weights matched to engine spec....total cost about £320
2. 123 ignition...... ultimately adjustable with bluetooth ......but would of course need setting up in the first place. .....about £400

thoughts anyone

thaks

If you're competing and want to be able to optimise things, then a programmable setup can make a lot of sense, at the additional cost of doing so of course.

Can't say I've heard of that specific make before though, but they look interesting

Fitted a few to classic 3pin CDI 911's; slot it in, connect it and set it up as per the enclosed instructions and you're away. The adjustable timing curve selection options are great too.

I’d agree about the 123 too unless you want to keep originality.
