Jaguar AJ v8 engines

Are the Jaguar/Land Rover AJ V8 series of engines similar to the AJP flat plane crank engines fitted to some TVR models or indeed are they the same engine in modified form.

Only in lettering as I understand it.

The AJP was becasue of Al, John and Peter being the designers.

The AJ-V8 can be loosely traced back to the AJ6 from the 80s so I don't imagine they're particularly related...
