Hello All
I drive a MK 4 golf and stupidly pulled over on to some rough ground which had dents in. Later in journey noticed a dull sound from back of car and I may have damaged by exhaust?
Cant see anything hanging down but wonder if I have broken a bracket or something . Are you able to tell from these photos please? I was wondering what my options were on getting fixed as cheaply as possible . Should I go to Kwik fit?
Would be grateful for your help....
Thanks

^^^^That.

Looks like a few pinholes as well so probably at the end of its useful life.

There's a lot of corrosion to the bracket & whilst you might find someone who would have a go at welding the bracket back on it would make more sense to fit a replacement back box & I expect the various exhaust specialists won't get involved with welding & will tell you the same.

Off the shelf from a motor factor no bother , if its OE VW you may have to cut the silencer from the once one piece OE system to fit the replacment silencer
