Hi I have a classic 1990 Honda ACTY pickup truck which is an import from Japan. Parts are hard to get and I was wondering if anybody knows anyone in the UK which reconditions CV axles. I've been looking all over but can't seem to find anybody, I've even asked propshaft shops they are not that interested.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Jack

What's wrong with it, exactly? Do you want the half shafts reconditioning (have they got rotted/broken splines?) or just new CV joints?

It clicks when you turn. The CV boot is fine its just the joint I think. I don't think I could do the CV joint myself but I think I could take it out myself to send it to somebody that could do it

If you're competent and confident to remove the driveshafts and CV joints to send them away to be reconditioned, the first thing I would do is remove them, thoroughly clean out all the old grease from the CV joints, (if indeed there's much grease in them), repack it with fresh, top quality grease and I reckon they'll be fine.

It's amazing how much better an old CV joint will be with a decent clean and repack with new grease. Your Acty is relatively low powered so not putting much strain on the CV joints.

Give it a go, it'll save you a lot of money if it works and I think it will.

If regreasing it doesn't work, I might go down to a parts store and see if they have a cv joint that would do it. I know I did that with the oil filter and it turned out it was just one the same as an old civic.

Is the CV joint integral with the drive shaft? If it's separate, you will have the option of replacing just the CV. That should be a lot easier to match using off-the-shelf parts from GKN etc.

Looking into it a bit more I think you might be right I've attached a diagram of the part diagram. Thanks again!
