Hi,

VW CC with a new full clutch kit replacement including flywheel. Less than 200 miles since clutch change.
When stationary I select 1st gear it clunks/grinds while going into gear.

When clutch was replaced I took it home had issues selecting 1st and reverse. Returned they said they changed full clutch to be sure parts were no issue and bled it. Tbh I think they just bled it. This will be the third time it's back to the garage on Monday and looking for possible reasons before I argue my case.

There should be little argument, they have f..... something up.

I recall a few years back a friend left his van into a "clutch specialist" to get a new clutch. 4 times it broke down with clutch issues before they finally fixed it

Their total incompetence....of a well known issue was the problem, where they had failed to remove an old o-ring in the hydraulic fitting for the slave, causing it to leak when the new piece was put in. Literally 4 times they had to recover the van and they claimed they replaced the slave 4 times blaming them on being faulty.
And after the first my friend had even explained the potential problem to them, yet they were obvlious.

So whilst there could be other problems....it is most likely they have f..... something up.

If indeed they changed all the parts they claim, and also installed them correctly. Maybe they've put the friction disc in the wrong way around. Or they have failed to bleed the system properly although you'd feel this at the pedal.
If you pump the pedal a few times before trying to select gear does it make any difference ?
Are there any signs of fluid leaking anywhere ?
