Does a garage have to fix any p codes for a car to pass MOT? The cars fine but the EML symbol has been on and off for month's. I ve just driven to mot and light stayed off. During test it came on so was failed. Surely whatever code they find has to be relevant of the mot test?
I would have thought that if the light were on it is a fail full stop, they don't necessarily have to have the gear to read codes at an MOT station, most are obviously garages, but they don't need to be, they could just be set up for tests.
