Hey guys.. I need some help please.

Skoda fabia 1.4 tdi pd engine. 2008. Currently at 222k miles.

I have a rattle at ideal. Raise the revs and it goes, press the clutch in and its gone. If the engine is kept at around 1000 revs no sound at all. Drives fine.

I have uploaded a video.
https://youtu.be/Z4CMXIXudgA

I did get cheated when I bought the car as I realised it was there only after it got home. Anyways thts a different story.

Its been around 12 k miles now since I bought it. I think it has got a little worse as first there were some instances where it would stop comming if I pressed the clutch n left it. But tht does not seam to work now. As soon as the rpms go down to around 800 it starts rattling.

I have changed the gearbox oil, tried adding some additives in the box but no difference.

Any advice is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

could simply be the clutch release bearing

As Stevie says it could be a release bearing. Also is there an inspection plate on the bell housing which could be loose?

Could be rollover noise from the first motion shaft, clutch release bearing or deterioration of the dual mass flywheel. What is the engines normal idle speed? Is it lower than it normally is?

Thanks, I don't think it has an inspection plate.

Thanks
I have done some research on this model and what I have gathered is thst this model does not have a dmf. So I ruled that out.

Normal ideal speed is around 760 -790 rpm. Which it is in the video. I don't think its lower than normal.

Thanks a lot for your replies guys.. much appreciated.

Could it be the input shaft bearings ?

Also today while in the car. I noticed.

if when in neutral n I push the gear lever towards 3rd or 1st, (without pressing the clutch) the tone on the noise changes...
