ok so its a 2.0 tdi and its weird it starts perfectly every time but it struggle to get going as in lacking any power at low revs for the first 2-3 minutes but once upon to temp its perfect that said i think it gets up to temp faster than it used to, i have changes the fuel filter and checked for codes but nothing... can anyone shed any light on the symptoms .. low power when cold once up to temp its perfect , clutch is fine . i do detect more smell from the exhaust than i used to so ... any thoughts sorry if this is in the wrong section thanks

Hi

You might have to make a To Do list and go through that checking one by one

I would check for any leak in the intake (induction) system, starting from air filter box
Check oil and coolant levels
Lastly check fuel supply system

My old Golf 2.0 tdi was as rough as a bag of nails when cold starting, it would fire up ok but then started hunting/missing for a minute or so, although it wasn't lacking in power. I'd always assumed it was a sensor not working properly, or possibly coked up.
