Hi,

Mazda 3 1.6 TDCI 2013. Can anyone confirm this is the thrust bearing?

Normally it makes this noise if pulling away in first gear slowly. I can also replicate by leaving handbrake on and bringing up clutch slowly in reverse gear.

Two Questions...

1 - Anyway to cure the noise without replacing the clutch. It's only doing it when warm and in first gear?

2 - I bought the car 3 weeks ago and it had a AA protect lite warranty for Engine and Box. What are the chances of getting the garage to sort it (I live about 3 hours away so can't drop it off)

Any advice appreciated

Do you mean clutch release bearing? Thrust bearing is usually used to refer to the bearing that stops the crankshaft moving endways.
