Hi wonder if enyone can help ! I've just replaced my 3.5 for a 3.9 ,I'm having trouble in getting my water system two from properly.
The differences I can c is on the 3.9 water pump their is only one input ! On the 3.5 their Wear 3 .bottom hose two pump and in and out off the pump two heater matrix and inlet manifold. The 3.9 hasn't got this .
Is there away two pump in the heater and manifold or is there away two bypass it all ! I have tried everything I can think off and still had no joy .
If enyone one could help it would be fantastic as I've been trying for ages and just can't get my head round it .
Regards Paul

Think your best bet is to look for a TR8 specific forum & ask how best to go about it.

Presumably no reason why it's not doable but you may need to be changing the engine front cover as a quick look at Rimmer Bros website shows the water pumps used on the Land Rover version & the TR8 are quite different.
And LR used several different ways of piping the heaters.

Just use all your old ancillaries, including water pump. If the 3.9 pump does not fit, it makes no sense to try and use it.

On the 3.9 (serpentine) one of the extra takeoffs is done via a tee in the hose on the pump inlet side. Can’t remember where the other is off the top of my head I’m afraid, though.

I assume this is all preserpentine.

The RR Classic 3.9 has two separate connections into the pump for the bypass/bleed line and heater return which sounds similar to the setup you're describing for the TR8. That suggests the 3.9 front cover you have is something different. There's nothing stopping you from teeing both these returns into the bottom hose / pump inlet, but reusing your original pump as Stevieturbo suggests (and front cover if necessary) is likely to be the easier option.
