Hi all, can someone help I have this hissing noise coming from the gearbox of my sons Ford fiesta 1.2 2009. It can be heard on tickover. When the clutch is pressed to the floor it disappeared. Can also hear a wurring noise in first gear when pulling away .

I have just had the clutch replaced today and it hasn't changed the noises.

Did they replace the release bearing while they were doing the clutch? Usually I’d expect it to be done but best to check.

My guess from the title. Now I'm sure of it from the description.

Does the noise still disappear when you depress the clutch?

In his second post he says he's had the clutch changed today and the noise is still there...

If the noise disappears when pressing clutch it's caused by a worn input shaft bearing. Releasing clutch starts the shaft spinning again hence the noise. A faulty clutch release bearing is usually the opposite situation.
