hi all,

Looking for some PH help to sort my wifes car. Its a 2015 Toyota Aygo 1.0 VVTi, and its throwing up warning lights and a P0137 error code (Oxygen Sensor).

Previously it had P0140 error code O2 Sensor no.2 → No Activity Detected B1S2. So I have replaced the post cat oxygen sensor this week the warning lights are back and the error code is now P0137.

I've check the new O2 sensor for resistance and the supply plug for voltage - both are as expected as per this video on YT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Up0tDKB_lQg

I'm wondering if the new sensor if faulty in some way or there is another fault? The only difference between the old sensor and new is thethe old sensor was rounded at the end that goes in the exhaust and the replacement is flat edged.

All help appreciated.

You don't say whether the 0137 refers to the pre-cat sensor?

That could be the answer, or yes of course it could be a duff sensor.

Was the sensor an OE one or an equivalent as some cars don't like similar sensors, I always stick to NTK for that reason.

This ^ Toyota are very piccy with 02 sensors to the point I wont fit after-market unless OE brank Denso/NTK for example , I do hope you didnt cheap out on this critical feedback component scratchchin just because it may be switching back and forth is no gaurantee the Toyota/Denso ECU will be happy either frown

Yes - P0137 error code is sensor 2 - post cat. I replaced the post cat sensor following the initial P0140 code for post cat sensor and now have P0137.

The new sensor was £25 off ebay and supposed to be OE equivalent (has the correct connection, not the type with bare wires you need to solder in) will check the brand and speak to the seller to see if they have any suggestions.

thanks

And really, the tests in that video are poor at best.

There are plenty of good videos of how to actually properly test an o2 sensor with it connected. Trying to test a heated sensor when it is unplugged is utterly pointless.

Thanks - I'll look into other vids tests. I latched on to the quoted one as it was for an Aygo. BTW I tested the sensor when cold before fitting.

Cheap sensor most likely the issue.

Buy a good quality 1, once . For some reason most Jap/Korean cars are very fussy with all their sensors. Never even bother with anything other than OE or NTK, had too many issues.

supplier has confirmed its the wrong sensor (despite confirming it was correct when i ordered it....) and I'm returning it for a refund.

Does anyone have a recommended supplier for Denso/NTK O2 sensors before I go down the ebay route again?

I tend to just use ebay, if you find the correct part number from NTK website, use that to search ebay.

Did you ever resolve the P0137/P0140 issue? I have the exact same issue on a 2015 Vehicle with 12000 mls on the clock.
Fitted replacement, post cat sensor, cancelled code P0140. drove for 10 miles and P0137 appears.
