Should oil be in the air filter?
Tuesday 12th July 2005
I have a TVR S2 with a 2.9 V6 Granada Scorpio engine which has started to spit oil into the air filter and has been overheating.
Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?
If oil's getting to the air filter presumably it's doing so through the rocker cover breather.
Don't know how your engine vents, but be worth checking to see if the crankcase breather is blocked as that could pressurise the engine forcing oil out of rocker cover breather.
Also check it hasnt been overfilled with oil. Im not sure how such a symptom would tie in to overheating.. blown head gasket resulting in pressure going into the oilways and eventually blowing it out the breather?
