I am looking for a "custom" radiator to cool a 3.9 litre Rover V8. I would like it to be the same as the standard 3.5 litre Range Rover radiator but a little narrower (i.e. the side tanks closer together by about 75mm).

Can anyone advise a good supplier who could either make or suggest a similar "standard" component to do the job?

How do aluminium radiators compare with O.E cost-wise?

A lot depends on the core used, and how its constructed generally..

You may find you can buy an off the shelf rad that would do, making things a lot cheaper...

Ive got a few things from these guys, and the works usually pretty good....but rarely is alloy stuff cheap..

I have griffin rad I bought from Summit/USA in my car. Simply an off the shelf item, so it was relatively cheap.

But Summit to rip you off with postage. If you could find another vendor in the US, it might work out better.

The Griffin is a quality product IMO.

Mine was a Chevy fitment of some sort. I just bought it based on dimensions, and it fitted perfectly.

Summit charged a lot more for postage, than the radiator cost.

They are a total rip off for international orders.

O/t
Jegs charged me $80 shipping for a cam & lifters, which all in was still cheaper than Real-Steal(!), my second order for a governor and tranny cable which weighed next to nothing, still attracted $80 shipping.

Grr.

After my Summit experience, I tried to order some smallish stuff from Jegs. They too tried to charge me about $230.....

I think both times I asked for UPS instead of USPS, which may make some difference.

Either way, $230 is a total rip off. And then there is Summits $25 charge, just because its an international order.

ouch i did not realise summit charged so much for posting, i have only ordered small packages from them quite a few mind you but the postage has been very good? i will see what the rad costs!! out of interest i am always ordering from them in fact i have nearly managed to persuade them for me to be an outlet for them so if you want any gear drop me an email and we can combine postage
