W204 c63 sounds supercharged ??
Discussion
Picked up a w204 c63 the other day and didnt think anything of it at first but there is an electrical whining noise when accelerating almost like its supercharged lol you can only really hear it at speeds under 30mph because of wind noise etc, it seems to follow the revs as well so it will get faster the more revs I'm doing
Bit of gear whine in lower gears perhaps?
Put it in neutral and raise the revs, does the whine still follow the revs? If not, transmission related whine.
Put in much higher gear, does it rise in time with the speed or with the revs, just to decide whether it's diff gear whine (if in time with speed) or transmission whine (if it still follows the revs).
Might help narrow it down, who knows

Definitely 204? I know you know what car you own but it could be a typo...!
The reason I ask is we had a 205 63 that one day after a couple of years, started whining like a supercharger at the higher end (5k+) of the rev range.
Car had regular oil changes, premium fuel, always warmed up. Merc were disinterested. Sounded like a hellcat, not in a good way.

its definitely a 204 yeah and it does it when revving, even when doing 40+ if you are slowly accelerating you can just hear it a bit. It goes up with the revs and not the speed also the only time you dont hear it is if you are accelerating hard (exhaust masks the sound) or going fast enough that the wind noise masks it alsoPut it in neutral and raise the revs, does the whine still follow the revs? Apologies for the thread resurrection but I noticed something similar on my 63-plate W204 C63 today. It did it when pulling fairly hard through third and fourth a couple of times, but not every time. @OP, did you ever get this diagnosed and if so, what was the root cause?
Not the OP, but could it be something like engine and gearbox mounts as per: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&... ?Gassing Station | Engines & Drivetrain | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
