Hi.

I'm the lucky owner of a Hyundai Getz (It was free) diesel (2006).

Seems that Kia Rio's of the same vintage and a few Getz have an 88hp ECU. Mine has an 80hp one.

From what I can gather, its simply just a case of swopping them over?

I have some questions.

1) Whilst the keys are simple old fashioned non Immobiliser types, will swopping the ECU change the mileage?

2) Any tips on how to track down the correct ECU? I have looked, but I soon lost direction. Should I be focusing on part numbers?

Cheers

According to Parkers https://www.parkers.co.uk/hyundai/getz/hatchback-2...
It was the 2004 cars that had 80bhp and 2005 cars onwards had 87bhp.
This aligns with the move from Euro3 to Euro4 emissions levels. I suspect there are a few more subtle tweaks than just the ECU.
If your car is Euro4 compliant then it will already be 87bhp (according to Parkers).

1. All modern cars have immobilisers...been a legal requirement for years.

Will swapping the ecu change the mileage ? Is this a serious question ?

2. By searching.

And more to the point...what is the problem or what are you even trying to achieve ?
