How detrimental to breathing would it be to put a thin 3-5mm spacer (with obviously 2 gaskets) between the head and exhaust manifold. The engine is a V6 and this mod only needs to be done on 1 side as well... will this cause a whole heap of trouble?!

It would basically be a cheat to get my old ss manifolds to fit a newer increased capacity engine which has a bigger crank pulley that just fouls the n/s downpipe.

Dont see an issue with that. Just make sure you fit longer bolts, or you WILL strip your threads out.

Can't you just file a flat on the crank pulley?

Sorry, I'm just having one of those days ...

What miniscule amount you'll lose in one place you'll gain in another so don't worry about it.

Thanks guys, I guess I was mainly concerned about all the extra bumps and joins the gas would have to travel over but sounds like its going to be such a small issue I won't worry...

It would be better if you fitted studs instead of bolts
