kx250 clutch problem

Hi,just built up engine ,new piston,crank the lot,problem is the clutch,bike fires up first kick,engage the clutch,into first and the bike just jumps forward and stalls?Obviously the clutch isn't engaging but there is a new clutch cable on it etc,the end of the cable that attaches to the pivot that pushes the rod to the centre of the clutch is getting plenty movement,i've tried adjusting the cable but no luck,anyone any ideas??

Has the clutch been sitting around for a while causing the plates to seize together? If starting in gear didn't free them then you'll probably have to take the clutch apart to find out.

Clutch isnt clearing. Its still allowing drive even when its activated.

Oh dear,clutch working now,problem now is i only get two gears lol,when i push up the lever to get to third the lever doesn't click,the gear will engage a second or two later,then keep clicking up the gears?(testing this standing still),out riding its two gears,thats my lot!Strange thing is that when the engine was out of the frame i could get all the gears by hand ok when i stuck the gear lever on the shaft?Ah well,engine out job i think,damnit.
