I am looking into buying the neuspeed supercharger for my 8v GTI. Does anyone have any experience of this? I know that many of you will say to do the 1.8t swap or to buy a VR6. but i am an awkward sod and want to have something different from the usual when i get up to the veedub shows.

Any advice or experience of fitting or driving one a golf with this modification would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers peeps!

If it is a twin screw supercharger, it's probably great. Personally, I reckon you would make it more fun by stripping most of the crap out of it. A Mk3 is too heavy. How about another engine in the back? Probably cheaper to rig up than a blower kit if you do it yourself.

The neuspeed is twin screw so should have a good results. I am able to do some weightloss, (i know that the mk3 is the pie-eater of the golf family) but need to keep it as a daily driver as well for the time being!

Maybe once i have a second car i will able to take the golf off the road for a strip out and second engine.

I once saw a pale blue stripped out mk2 with twin vr6 engines pulling fantastic runs up at Santa Pod. So that could be a plan.....

But for the mean time i think that the supercharger will be the way forward!

Fraid it's not. It seems to be a repackaged Eaton, ie. a Roots blower with twisted rotors to make it quieter but still without internal compression.

Unit looks like an Opcon Autorotor supercharger.

Importer now AJ6 superchargers
www.jagweb.com/aj6eng/superchargers.html

Used to come in from a swedish company jmtech
www.jmtech.se/sve/english.shtml

Not sure how long AJ6 have been official importers but it would probably be worth giving jan-eric a call for a price as well.

Have a word with the guys at Dubsport. They are the ones that did the twin engined VR6.

Good bunch as well.

MK3 per chance? Jabba sport's car, went bang a while ago. Spun out on an attempted 200mph run and nearly smacked a mate of mine who was filming it for them!
