Ford V6 swap - airflow
Discussion
Fitting an explorer OHV 4.0l to my Tiv in place of the existing 2.9. The 2.9 has 2 MAFs feeding the alloy plenum whereas the explorer has a single MAf feeding a nasty plastic plenum (neither of which I have yet). The question is would the airflow and therfore mixture be severely compromised if I transplant the existing setup to the 4.0l.
I have the standard ford EECiv ECU with a mappable datek unichip piggybacked.

First of all it depends if the ECU & software supports the use of 2 MAF's.
2nd, can you turn it on in the software as it will be disabled?
3rd You will probably have to retune the engine as the tune present will be configured for running 1. Unless there is more than 1 tune (switchable) present in the ecu for another variant of the engine which can and you can switch it.

The maf/ecu combination would be the existing 2.9 version so runs the 2 mafs now on my 2.9. Wondering how this setup would impact on the larger 4litre version and whether the airflow would be considerably compromised?
