Audi Glow Plugs

Help anyone? Decided to replace glow plugs in sensible car Audi A6 2.5 TDI. Starting was a bit laboured so bought six new glow plugs. Um easy I thought, wrong, the ones I have been taking out appear to have been over tightened. Got last two undone but will not come out, stuck now as they will not tighten either??? Any proper mechanics with any tips.

Some glow plugs seem to be working now I have fiddled around. When you first crank engine it tries to fie for a split second then just cranks. Then hit and miss if it fires, even on warm day like today? What else can it be. Fuel getting to engine as smoke comes out of exhaust while cranking??
