I was told by Turbotechnics not to use any gaskets on my T3's which i found suprising. I will found out if they leak in probably 6 months time at the rate of my fabrication.

Are they hard to find?

I thought they would be straight forwardIf stuck you could try Steve Swinson on 0115-9614516.

Well original Saab spec was a gasket between turbine and manifold - new downpipe won't seal so requires a suitable gasket. Could pay main dealer prices but was wondering if anyone knew of a more reasonable source? Works out about 15quid for two of each from the states.

Providing both surfaces are perfectly flat you shouldn't need a gasket - however pretty sure mine aren't

T3 flange gasket should be readily available from an turbo supplier or specialist.
If both surfaces are flat, it isnt really needed anyway.

The other gasket you show will be specific to your installation. All turbos can have a variety of discharge flanges etc, so teh gasket you show isnt spefically for a T3.
Just your T3 application.

Very true - its a standard 3 bolt flat 3" gasket - just I can't get the sodding downpipe to seal properly without it

I support it'd be wise to get my local engineering firm to skim the manifold and turbine housing flat when its next apart.

Throw all that crap in the bin and get a nice supercharger.

I doubt the turbine housing is warped, more likely the downpipe.

If you have a pateince, a file will do it ( lots of patience )
Or if you are handy with an angle grinder, it can be made flat too...

Matt,
give Turbo Dynamics a try. They had all the "bits" that I needed for our T3 hybrid on the 99T.
They're in Christchurch, Dorset, Tel: 01202 487497, www.turbodynamics.co.uk
