right, i have a few issues(or one issue) with the clutch on my 98 toyota corolla 1.3(the ugly bug eyed one) basically the clutch squeaks when you press the pedal down, but not on the way up, so im thinking the release bearing could be on its way out??
otherwise the clutch feels fine, still nice and light and doesent slip, and its been like this for a few months now(ever since my dad drove it )) although it does seem to be getting louder of late so is there anything i can do to stop it before it kills the clutch?

thanks in advance

If the sqeak is internal and not the pedal sqeaking its the cluch cover that squeaks not the bearing, its just gone dry with age and heat,

Sure it's not just the pedal linkages or the cable if there is one?
Try a squirt of WD40 and see if that makes any difference
