I was at the racing car show at the NEC today.

Cyclone had a V16 80 valve engine on their stand with Callaway written on the cam covers.

The man on the stand said he had no idea what the engine was for.

So what is this engine destined for?

Callaway are a renouned if pricy tuner in the USA. They are well known in Corvette circles. I've seen those engines before on their website, am looking forward to seeing it in the flesh !!

V16 made out of 4 Yamaha R1 engines......Now that would be cool.

got any links to a website? there was a couple of cumpanies building V8s using twin Yamahare block and heads, one was Cyclone but i cant remember what the other was. but the other talked about doing a V16 because "it could be done" (my sort of thinking). i will endever to find out the name of this company over the (very busy) weekend.

the V8s where designed to compeat agains automotive 2.0ltr units. the main use would be in kit cars and with the sprinting and hillclimbing people.

as for the V16, wonder if one will fit in the back of an Ultima......with 4 turbos???????

thanks Chris.

I spotted this too

The guy on the stand said it had just completed it's first session on the dyno, putting out around 550bhp, with more to come

Yep looked like a very nice piece to me, lower section which ties it all together machined from billet.

As nice as it was that wasn't what I was thinking of, I'm sure I saw a V16 made out to two Corvette (chev) V8's made by Calloway...........

Looking at the blocks - they look a bit like Kawasaki 4 cylinder engines..

Talking of V16's - anyone remember the Cizeta Moroder V16 super car of the late 80's ~ early 90's.

Looked a bit like a Lambo..

dinkel, that V12 looks ace! be even nicer with low comp pistons and 4 turbos! but its a bit long though. Brammo (the company embosed on the vavle covers) has built a mad twin turbo LS6 and put it in the back of an Ultima GTR. that thing was a short stroke special that was making 1300bhp at about 9psi!!!!

nothing on the V16 yet? i haven't found the issue of CCC that i read it in yet but will have another go at digging it out!

thanks again Chris.
