New Ford Duratec

Does anyone knwo where I can purchase a new 2Ltr or 2.3Ltr Ford Duratec engine?

I was Looking at replacing a pinto engine Tiger 7 engine with on.
I know Raceline sell them but not standered. I was looking at modding it myself.

Maybe a ford parts dealer would be the first place to start looking

be warned though, new engines cost a fortune and without a unit to go back, an exchange item would incur a major sur charge.

lots of breakers getting them in now.Just phone around.A mate was offered a low mileage one for £500 recently

How about a Dodge Viper engine?? Get the biggest engine you can get and cram it in there somehow...

Ask on www.blatchat.com. There's a chap on there who sells new engines for what seems a reasonable price.

i heard that Ford where charging £1600 for a brand new engine (that was a while ago). but you should beable to pick one up for about 500 from the breakers. or you could use the cheaper Zetec. still a good unit, a bit heavier but not as tall. and it would be cheaper to mod.

I have a 1.8Ltr Zetec in my Tiger SuperCat at the moment and with carbs, ECU, ARP bolts, new cams etc..
I have spent around £3000 all in all on the engine. but its was worth it 640Kgs and 170BHP means alot of fun. Just ont he next build wanted to use a Duratec and its easyer and cheaper to get more power.
