Can you engine experts tell me what would happen if someone put LRP (that's Lead Replacement Petrol, not LPG!) in a decatted Griff? Logic tells me it should have higher octane rating than ordinary UL, but how does it compare octane-wise with Super and Optimax, and more importantly will it harm the engine?

Don't put LRP into a catted car as it will have the same effect as leaded, i.e clog the cat in a very short time.

See the unleaded FAQ on www.tvrbooks.co.uk.

LRP has no standards on formulation and different suppliers use different chemistries which may or may not be compatible with anything. If you use it stay with one brand but the best advice is not to (unless it is an emergency and you've don't have a cat).

Unless you want to run some genuine 4* at 100p a litre...

At last - someone who read the question!

You could also try Optimax mixed with TetraBOOST (non cats only)for some genuine 5* leaded performance!!!MoJo.
