Engine builder, surrey
Discussion
I have a TR7 track day car fitted with a Rover v8 lump. 3.9l, fuel injection, competition exhaust.
I want someone to overhaul the engine, fit new mappable ignition and turbocharger (+ exhaust system) with intercooler.
Can anyone recommend someone close to (junction 10, M25) me who can do a good, reliable job?
Thanks for any help

OK, so he's not in Surrey, but really the only man for this job is Mike Johnson, up in Nottingham. Not only is he an expert builder, he is also an expert in turbocharging and, get this, a TR7 expert as well!
I first met him several years ago when he was TR7 Registrar of the TR Register, and was running a twin turbo 4.5L TR7 of his own construction.
He appears on this forum as Boosted LS1, he's a full time engine builder and his website is
www.chevroletls1.com

Update:
Got in touch with Mike by telephone and had a good natter. Top bloke - you were all right about him.
Came to a "mutual vision" - strip and recon bearings, forged 7:1 pistons & turbo rings, wired TVR head, manifolds & 2 turbos, water injection, new carb, exhaust system, balance & refit. New engine management.
I also have a lightweight, balanced flywheel and I want a new rear axel.
I happen to have the pistons from the Rover test engine that would have powered the 8R4, but the engine did not fit and so we got the 6R4, these might have the correct compression for turbo operation.
I need to agree final spec and price with Mike and this can be a winter project.
Now.....
Any suggestions how to tell Karen (bless the ground she walks on)?
