Discussion
Oh dear, told friend about a very low mileage Weber carb for sale for his 1991 Scirocco,he bought it,on further investigation it turns out this one is for a 1600cc,although it is identical to the 1.8 one except for main jet, secondary jet size and air corrector sizes,ok two questions, will his car run with this carb?,this 1.6 carb has main jet 120,secondary 125,(1.8 engine should be 117 primary and 127 secondary).Air corrector on 1.6 carb is 155 primary,125 secondary,(1.8 engine needs 145 primary,200 secondary.)And in case i have to get jets, where in Scotland can i get them quickly?,thanks!Oh,and where is the main jet in this carb?

Hi m8
You should be able to get the car to run on it, but don't expect massive perfomance, you'll probably need to tweek the mixture screw to richen it up a little in order to obtain a reasonable idle.
I don't know any scotish dealers for weber bits, but these guys have helped me in the past with bits and bobs,
vroom vroom
Hope it helps.

if you want to change the jets, ive had very good service from these: www.fuelsystem.co.uk/ guys. maybe drop them a line? such parts arent expensive but do check the carbs for the usual as theres a lot of mileage in retuning a goodun, but no point tuning a turkey....
